THE Process – IGD Plumbing’s technicians will arrive at your home, cover all walkways and work areas, to keep your home clean through the entire process. Each day IGD Plumbing’s team will clean up after themselves and leave your home as clean as we first found it. IGD Plumbing’s team will route your new PEX water system in the most efficient way, which will provide you with hot and cold water through the entire the process. The only time you will be out of water is during the last day, when IGD Plumbing’s team will switch your water flow from the old galvanized water system to your brand new PEX water system. This process usually takes no more 5 – 7 hours.
During the installation process, IGD Plumbing will create drywall openings in areas where your hot & cold-water pipes need to connect to plumbing fixtures, toilets, or water heaters. After your new PEX water system has been connected to all fixtures and tested for proper functionality, IGD Plumbing’s team will close the drywall openings with the original drywall. If you have any special textures that need to be repaired, IGD Plumbing can also assist with this process.
Symptoms That You Need A House Repipe
- Low/decreasing water pressure
- Rusty colored/odd-tasting tap water
- Leaky pipes
- Slow warming of water/hot or inconsistent water temperatures (if you live in a hard-water area)
Other than the listed symptoms from above, if you live in an older house, you may even have lead pipes, which don’t corrode as easily, but present a serious health hazard.
- Improved water pressure
- Rust-free water supply
- Safer plumbing system
- Prevent plumbing leaks
- Increase home value
Changing the pipes in your house has so many benefits, you may want to do it even as a preventative repair to avoid costly repairs in the future.
